Showing Kotahitanga

We have been doing our best to earn whānau cards for our rewards.  This week we focussed on Kotahitanga.  This means working and learning together for the benefit of each other.  You can see some lovely photos of this skill  during our play.  The children worked together to build a ship, a ball pen, dens, play soccer, and build a spaceship!

Teddy Bears Picnic

"If you go down to Halswell School today, you're sure of a big surprise
If you go down to Halswell School today, you'd better go in disguise

Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic!"

The children and teachers in Ahuriri loved bringing their teddy bears and furry friends to school today for a celebratory picnic. It was a lovely way to recognise our part in achieving our school wide goal of 3500 whānau cards.
